Though Diddy was not recognized for his acting performance, as Executive Producer he stands to win a prize for Outstanding Made for Television Movie.

Co-stars Phylicia Rashad and Audra McDonald are in the running for Best Actress and<--more--> Best Supporting Actress, respectively. The made-for-TV-movie debuted in February 2008, just four years after the Broadway revival of the play, which starred Diddy, Phylicia Rashad, Audra McDonald, and Sanaa Lathan. The cast also reappeared in the television adaptation.

The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sunday September 21, 2008, at 8/7c on ABC.
