Tennis star Venus Williams achieved her goal of a fifth Wimbledon championship title over the weekend, when she beat her sister Serena in the finals with straight sets ( 7-5, 6-4).

"We've both worked really hard this year, and I think the results showed here, both in the singles and the doubles," Venus said after winning the singles title. It would have been Serena's third title at Wimbledon's All England Club, had she won the match.

"I can't believe it is five because when you are in the final against Serena Williams five seems so far away," said Venus. "It's unbelievable especially with some of the injuries I have gone through. I love this place."

The siblings teamed up a few hours after the singles final to win the doubles championship in two seemingly easy 6-2 sets against Lisa Raymond of the United States and Samantha Stosur of Australia

According to the Associated Press, Venus and Serena netted more than $2.5 million in prize money in the tournament.
