Rapper Jay-Z's controversial performance at British music festival Glastonbury has given the Hip-Hip star a boost to his already stratospheric career. Festival organizers were criticized for recruiting Jay - born Shawn Carter - to headline last weekend's event by those who claimed the decision compromised Glastonbury’s rock roots.

But Jay-Z silenced the critics with an acclaimed performance that was well-received by the 100,000 plus crowd. The rapper opened his performance with a cover of "Wonderwall" by British band Oasis - who's frontman Noel Gallagher was among the most vocal detractors to the Hip-Hop performance.

After the tongue-in-cheek cover, the Roc-a-Fella CEO transition into his hit "99 Problems," apparently prompting many in the audience to run home and download the song after the show. According to CMU Music, "99 Problems" and another performed song, "Encore," are set to appear in the U.K.’s top 40 this weekend.

The show was such a hit and garnered so much media buzz, that even the rapper's naysayers experienced a boosts. Sales of Oasis’ "Wonderwall" have shot up 200 percent, propelling it into the U.K. top 100, 13 years after it was first released.

It might be that Gallagher's viewpoint has changed post-Glastonbury. According to MTV, Jay-Z says he's heard the guitarist wants to have a conversation.

"I haven't spoken to him," he said. "I heard he was reaching out, but I haven't spoken to him."

The Hip-Hop mogul confirmed that there are no hard feelings and that he would even be open to working with Oasis on some music.

"I don't bear any grudge, it's all good. I just believe in good music and bad music, I've always said that. You look at any interview from the beginning of time, I've always stated that I don't believe in the lines and classifications that people put music in so they can easily define it."
