Remy Ma and Papoose to Marry Today on Rikers Island

Rappers Remy Ma and Papoose will become man and wife today, even as Remy is held in prison on New York's infamous Rikers Island, reports the New York Daily News.
Remy, real name Remy Smith, was convicted in March on assault and weapons charges related to a July 2007 incident in which the rapper shot her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph twice in the abdomen. Smith is scheduled for sentencing tomorrow and faces up to 25 years in prison.
Remy and her fiance Papoose - born Shamele Mackie - will reportedly be allowed two guests each for the ceremony.
Papoose may face his own legal troubles soon, after allegedy tricking a Bed-Stuy ambulance into participating in the video for his diss track, "Ambulance."
